How is mobile data measured? What size plan should I buy?

Data is measured in Megabytes (MB) and Gigabytes (GB).

1GB data plan is estimated to give you any of the following:

  • Up to 5 Hours of Mobile Web Browsing

  • Up to 18 Hours of Music Streaming

  • Up to 30 Minutes of Video Streaming

  • Up to 5 Hours of Mobile Gaming

Unlike voice minutes or text messages, data consumption cannot be precisely predicted because the quality of the content – music, video, or voice – uses varying amounts of data. In general, streaming video - like YouTube, Netflix, TV, and movie channels - uses far more data than messaging, mapping, and other common applications. Even the size of your screen affects the amount of data you use on streaming video.
